I've been a member of the SCA since fall of 1996. I started out in the Shire of Hartwood (Nanaimo, BC), but within a few months of joining moved to Vancouver, BC where I began playing with the Barony of Lions Gate.
When I first joined the Society, I was not a particularly active participant, for various reasons. In fall of 2002, my then-lord and I started participating consistently and doing a fair amount of volunteering.
In August of 2003, I became the Deputy Arts Mistress for the Barony of Lions Gate, working under Her Ladyship Isobel Fitz Gilbert. I then began running monthly Arts Nights at my home.
In October of 2003, I ran my first kitchen, at Lions Gate's Newcomers weekend. I ran another kitchen at Baronesses Tourney in December of that same year, and autocratted my first event at the Lions Gate Christmas Party on December 10, 2003.
In February of 2004, I autocratted my second event, which was Lions Gate's Arts and Sciences Day. This event was small but lots of fun, and I intend to make it a yearly tradition in the Barony.
At May Bardic 2004 (May 1, 2004) I became the new Arts Mistress for Lions Gate.
At Lionsdale Champions Tourney on June 19, 2004, I was given my Award of Arms by Prince Kheron and Princess Ksenia.
At Sergeants, Yeomans, Gallants and Courtiers trials in August 2004, I apprenticed to Mistress Seiglynda of Elphinstone and became a member of her household, Holly House.
Upcoming: I will be doing the kitchens for both Kingdom Bardic Championship on September 25/26 and Lions Gate Newcomers Weekend in October 2004.
